In 1990 Marco de Bartoli takes a bold step. Out of respect for his area’s emblematic native grape, he decides to make his first white table wine from Grillo, an austere, fine grape mostly unknown at that time and exclusively used for making traditional Marsala wine. Grillo is an ancient grape variety, whose origins are Phoenician, in the right produces a complex, well-structured wine that can age for many years and is ideal to accompany assertive flavored dishes, vegetables and cheeses.
