Ciro Picariello and his wife started their winery in 1997 initially selling their grapes until starting their own label in 2004. Their 7 hectares of vineyards are located at relatively high elevation in the province of Campania divided between the villages of Montefredane and 1,600- 2,100 feet above sea level. Situated on southeast facing clay, loam, sandstone soils these very old vines are hand harvested on their highest plot at 650 meters. Fermentation takes 60 days using native yeast and frequent battonage. These wines are aged for 12 months in stainless steel followed by at least 6 months in the bottle before release.
