2015 Barbera d'Alba "Francia" Giacomo Conterno

One of the greatest names in all of Piemonte, Cantine Giacomo Conterno was formed in 1908. Conterno's uncompromising commitment to quality does not stop with Barolo, as their Barbera is one of the most age-worthy and brilliant examples of this grape to be found in Piemonte. Like all of Conterno's wines, this Barbera under went extended maceration in large casks, aging for 21 months in large Slovanian barrels. Dark ruby red in color. It offers a delightful nose of red berries, black cherries, roses, anise, leather and mineral notes.

2015 Bourgogne Aligote "Raisins Dores" Lafarge

Domaine Michel Lafarge is one of the most respected houses in Burgundy. This is his Aligote, a small-production white grape in the Burgundy region, grown on the bottom of the hills because of its ability to adapt to colder and wetter climates. Lafarge is proud of his Aligote and produces a beautiful bottling. "Raisins Dores", the "Golden Grapes", are from very old vines of Aligote Dore, a high-quality clone of the grape (contrasted with the vigourous but less complex Aligote Vert), which produces clusters of small, gold-tinged fuit. An enticing nose, light, crisp, notes of herbs.
