2007 Montefalco Sagrantino Passito Paolo Bea

100% late-harvested Sagrantino, left to dry over-winter, during which time botrytis blooms on the slowly drying grapes, concentrating flavor and intensity, and adding its own complexity. Bea then ages in steel 4+ years, and bottle-ages another year before release. Farmed organically, bottled unfiltered with a minimum of SO2.

2006 Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos Chateau Dereszla

Chateau Dereszla was founded in the 15th century. After being nationalized during the communist period, the property was privatized in 1991. The D’Aulan family from France took over the Estate in 2000 with the strong belief that a winery in such a historical region was worth being revived again. Aszù grapes are late-harvested and botrytized, so the sugar concentration remains very high. This wine is perfect with strong blue cheeses or dessert, or as an after-dinner drink.
