2000 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes Laurent Lignier - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Finally a Chambolle from Lignier that tasted like Chambolle! Usually we are going more on the darker side of the fruit; this bottle was sexy and pure with some red fruit jam notes, very fresh with nuances of herbs and anise. KR
1990 Chambertin Thierry Mortet - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Sensational wine. Mature, wholesome, showing the terroir of Chambertin. Oak was integrated and gave it a superb backbone. One of those truly great bottles that make you fall in love with Burgundy. TD
2006 Auxey Duresses Domaine d'Auvenay - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Wow, not a touch of oak! The wine was calm and full of different types of honey flavors; a bottle with evolution and funk and also an outstanding personality, the guest offered me a glass and the power of wine was growing which such confidence that I found myself smelling it over and over for several hours.KR
2006 Chambolle-Musigny Christophe Roumier: - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
One of thre best bottles I have opened from this vintage. Very accessible and voluptuous, just like a Chambolle should be. The structure was on point, as expected from a great producer, but it was welcoming, like someone opening his arms to me. Very different from others from the same vintage, that were rough and needed time in the glass.KR
1996 Barolo La Pira Luca Roagna - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Real Barolo once it was decanted. For me not the best expression of Nebbiolo from Roagna. The wine showed some firm tannins and a great structure reminiscent of the long maceration with the skins. The oak is definitely integrated but the wine is still sleeping. After contact with air, it finally showed iron and tar tones, which are the expected aromas. KR
2007 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets Fontaigne-Gagnard - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Feels like we should drink 2007 if you like the idea of minerality and stoniness, Caillerets showed its terroir, very saline and smoky, great bottle, Fontaigne shows better in cooler vintages I believe. Powerful, once it opened in the glass, Chassagne showed up and made its call saying: BOUM! KR
2005 Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos de la Marechale White J-F Mugnier - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
The fatness of 2005 is, I believe, definitely gone. For a Nuits Saint Georges, the wine was showing power, but more than that, density and layers of minerality. It was smoky at first, then very vibrant with the expected roundness. Is hard to call this specific spot, but the wine very authentic at the same time. Shining bottle. KR
2007 Chambolle Musigny VV 1er Cru la Combe D'Orveau Domaine Perrot Minot - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Astonishing wine. Premier Cru in this case meant a bit more oak than the village but the terroir was very present. Still silky and deep black fruit balanced by a backbone that says '' I could use 10 more years and get more softer and pure." KR
2005 Meursault 1er Cru Poruzots A&F Jobard - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
What a bottle! Zero notes of oxidation! Electric, and showing this soft minerality so typical of this terroir, loved the creaminess that was consistent and aggressive at the same time. It made me fly on top of Meursault in a minute. So much power! Just very good. KR
2007 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets De Montille - Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Fun to see the difference between the bottle from Carillon (same vintage and cru). This bottle seemed to be more vibrant but as well more opened, the oak was showing on the side but was never annoying, not like a H.Boillot could be sometimes. The quality was here, for sure! I did this bottle after the Meursault cause to me it was the continuity and we were following with more power, I guess it worked, they left a little bit in the bottle for me. I thought I was a bear seating on a stony soil licking a jar of flower honey, beautiful! KR
