Alain Burguet makes very traditional Red Burgundies without ignoring some of the more fantastic advances of modern winemaking. The result is a line of well-balanced wines that are remarkably consistent vintage to vintage in an area with terribly unpredictable weather. The 2010 Symphonie comes from old vines that reach deep into rocky clay soils and produce a wonderful mix of dark and red fruit and a delicate but sturdy acid structure.
